Salma, Elieka and Joyce
We are currently sponsoring 3 former pupils of TEKUA for full time secondary education. They are in the first year, here are their stories written by each of them in their own words in English in February 2008.
Salma Othumani
"My name is Salma Othumani, I am 17 years old. I come from Gallapo in the Manyarra district in Tanzania. I live with my father and mother and have 3 brothers and 4 sisters."
"My father is a farmer and my mother has no job. My father is not able to send us all to school because he has to wait until he can sell his crops and find money for food and clothes."
"I like education very much and I would like to go to secondary school. When I finish school I would like to become a doctor and help sick people."
Elieka Elisa
"My name is Elieka Elisa, I am 16 years old. I am the first born in my family. My father is a driver and my mother farms. We are four children in our family. I didn't go to secondary school because my father hadn't some money. But now I like to go to secondary school because I want to get a good education to reach for my future."
Joyce Noely
"My name is Joyce Noely, I am 17 years old. I am the first born in my family, we are two children. I started primary school in 1998 and completed in 2004. My father is a farmer. I would like to go to secondary school because I want to be a broadcaster. When I get work I will help orphans, society and street children. I will study hard in order to reach my purpose."
