Giving children a home and a chance for the future

Children at the new school

Children at the New School

Dora and Anza Kimaro started to give a home to children they had seen abandoned, in and around the Arusha district. Since 2004 it has grown to provide living accommodation, education and health care to over 50 children, who had been orphaned, abused and/or neglected. These children have been rejected by their extended families and African society at large.

Some Of The Children at LWCC

As the centre grew, the original buildings became overcrowded and so land was obtained for a new school building. The older children moved into the new premises in January 2009 and the school was open to children living in the local community by May 2009.
