2009 Diary Week Five

Goodbyes at Living Water Children's Centre

Our last day, we can't believe it has gone by so quickly. Just a few more "Goodbye's".

We return to the new school building at Living Water Children Centre. It is looking really smart and final touches are being made. We especially like the maps of the world and of Africa and Tanzania painted on the side of the buildings.

We confirm our donation to help provide qualified teachers for the school and accommodation for the orphaned children. They wish us a good journey and asked us to thank all donors back in the UK.

Antonia Starts Work

On our way back we call to see Antonia working in the new Naura Springs Hotel. We meet with Robert, Restaurant and Catering Manager and he explains that in the 3 months work experience, Antonia will work in housekeeping, the restaurant and then in the kitchen. If she does well, there is every chance she will be taken on in full time employment.

She was very happy and thanks you all for the chance she has been given.

Meeting Gerald's Mum

Finally, Gerald takes us to meet his Mum. In the Massai tradition she proudly shows us her home and we eat a meal of goat stew and rice.

Gerald is one of 8 children who lost his father at 8 years old. He had his dream of becoming a teacher and from his humble home; it is truly a remarkable journey. Thank you for giving Gerald the chance to achieve his dream.
